Is there a particular aspect of water quality that you would like to investigate further?
Dakota Water Watch would be happy to work with existing and potential volunteers to
develop a monitoring plan that best fits your needs and interests. Potential topics include,
but are not limited to:
MonitOAR Grass Lake
One example of a special monitoring event that Dakota Water Watch hase done is the
MonitOAR Grass Lake event that took place in the summer of 2008. On that day, Dakota
Water Watch teamed up with the South Dakota Canoe and Kayak Association to collect
samples from 19 different sites across Grass Lake. Although sampling is not currently
ongoing at Grass Lake, this single day event introduced many different people to basic
water sampling techniques and also created a "snapshot" in time as to the conditions on
Grass Lake.
