Big Sioux River Bank Stability Project |
In August of 2007, scientist from the National Sedimentation Laboratory in Oxford, Mississippi began collecting geotechnical data from 5 sites along the Big Sioux River. Project sites were located near Castlewood, Bruce, Brookings, Egan, and Renner, South Dakota. Bank erodibility data was collected to be used with the Bank Stability and Toe Erosion Model. The river channel from Castlewood to Renner was filmed during a helicopter flight. Footage from the video and results from the Bank Stability and Toe Erosion Model will be avaible soon. |
